Disabled American Vets of Bismarck-Mandan Receive $10,000 Check


Disabled Veterans of America received a much larger than expected gift this afternoon a gift that will benefit all disabled veterans in the Bismarck-Mandan and surrounding areas At the 27th Freedom Motorcycle Classic event at the Ramkota in Bismarck this afternoon organizers presented a check worth 10-thousand dollars to the DAV The money was raised through a first-time auction at the annual event It took only 35 minutes and 23 donated auction items to raise the money Tim Kellar Co-Chair Freedom Motorcycle Classic It went fast We had stuff diamond earrings we had stuff from Jack Daniels Schumacher Diamonds gave us some diamond ear rings It was just great and we are so happy to be able to give this money to them Mark Landis Adjuctant in Treasurer for DAVBis-Man The money is going to be used for programs to help disabled veterans and their families in Bismarck and Mandan One of the main things that we do is provide transportation to the Fargo VA Hospital A lot of our veterans who ride are elderly disabled not necessarily well to do and this is their only way to get there And the Freedom Riders hope to do the auction again next year choosing a different organization to give the money to
